New Diagnosis of UC- suggestions for pain management

Posted by mrg64 @mrg64, Jan 27, 2016

I am new here. Just diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I’m still experiencing terrible pain but started Lialda 4 days ago. Any suggestions for the pain?

So sorry to hear you are still experiencing terrible pain. Keep in mind that new medications can often take some time to feel the effects. I hope that your pain will reduce as your body begins to respond to the medication. Some patients use other forms of pain management in addition to medication including yoga, meditation, acupuncture, or mindfulness techniques. Also, make sure to check in with your gastroenterologist if you continue to experience pain. Good luck, and keep us posted!

I was just diagnosed with UC as well. I started taking Lialda one week ago. My pain has significantly reduced and so have my bathroom visits.

How has the medicine been working for you? Has you pain reduced? I hope it has.

Glad to hear there has been improvement in the pain; How long did you have to stay on Lialda?
