I have difficulty swallowing food sometimes; it seems to get stuck in my throat. I have read that this may be a sign of Barrett’s. I am curious what other individuals with barrett’s experienced for symptoms?

I had no symptoms for GERD. It was silent. The only symptom was a full throat feeling for a few weeks. Diagnosed myself and went in for an endoscopy. Found the Barrett’s and celiac disease. Had another endoscopy 7 months later and barretts had disappeared…? I am now on nexium everyday. Go in and have it checked out! It is not something to mess around with. A good friend died last year of esophagus cancer. Fastest growing cancer in the US.

Well i finally saw the doctor and had an endoscopy. I dont have Barrett’s but I apparently have pretty bad reflux disease. He started me on a medicine and gave me a bunch of instructions to follow for diet etc. I am still “digesting” these, excuse the pun!

Hi @burgundy, glad that you don’t have Barrett’s. You might want to check out some of the conversations in the reflux group here: http://thegiconnection.com/group/gerd/

Hi @burgundy, just checking in to see how you are doing. Have you been able to come up with an effective management plan for your reflux?
