Ive been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, gerd and gastritis. Im currently on prilosec 40mg 2x daily. Im frequently nauseated as well. What can i do to prevent the nausea?

There are many ways to control nausea caused by either GERD, Gastritis or the hiatal hernia. How long have you been taking the prilosec? Has it helped the nausea at all? Can you tell us a little more about when the nausea occurs? is it constant, or are there certain times its more problematic like after meals or at nighttime?

Did you have the test for Gastroparesis? I had GERD and was nauseous so my dr suggested a test to see how food empties from the stomach. It turned out that the food in my stomach is not emptying properly. Now I eat 5-6 very small meals a day and it helps tremendously. He also put me on the FOODMAP diet (a long process) and now I know which foods make me sick. My GERD is under control thanks to Nexium (and the food that I eat)- one pill in the morning on an empty stomach.

The nausea comes after meals, but not all the time

How did you start the Foodmap diet? By yourself or with a dietician ? I tried and gave up.
