New diagnosis

Posted by dogmom14 @dogmom14, Mar 11, 2022

I was recently diagnosed with Barrett's. I can't find much on the internet that's very useful, but have had almost constant mucus from my esophagus coming up. Along with difficulty swallowing, especially when I try to eat, it is exhausting. Just a sip of water sets off the whole thing. The doc prescribed protonix, but I don't have heartburn or much stomach pain. I had no idea I even had GERD…..just really struggling with they mucus/eating/drinking stuff. I won't eat in front of anyone for the last couple of weeks because I don't want to gross people out. Is this the case for anyone else? Does anyone have suggestions to help with the constant mucus issue?
