I am too. I have Gastroparesis and can only drink liquids. I have diabetes, NASH and am on a variety of medications so I am not really sure what’s my cause. My doctor recently tried me on Reglan I had a very severe side effect to the medication. He wants to try the Botox injection into the pyloric sphincter to see if that will help. My insurance company will not cover it as they consider it to be experimental so I have to pay out of pocket for the medication. It is $700 for the Botox from his office but the hospital said $3,000 to $4,000 for the same thing. Fortunately I have HSA which I will be able to access June 1st. They will then order the medication and I will be able to schedule the appointment. I have only had this since February but I am tired of it. Has anyone ever tried the Botox injection and was it successful?
